Hyper reality and time

Australian born hyper realist sculptor Ron Mueck started his career as a model maker and puppeteer for children’s television and films before creating props for special effects, remarkably the film “Labyrinth” starring David Bowie. Although highly detailed, these props were usually designed to be photographed from one specific angle hiding the mess of construction seen from the other side. Mueck increasingly wanted to produce realistic sculptures which looked perfect from all angles.

I’m not sure I can bare to look at these pictures. The are so naked and brutally honest. Stripped to the bone, taking away all the emotions and leaving the viewer facing the reality of ruthless flight of time.
