Sleeping Insects Covered in Droplets of Water

02/04/2010

Miroslaw Swietek is a Polish amateur photographer who took up photography two and a half years ago. Using a torch, Mr. Swietek hunts out the motionless bugs in the darkness before setting up his camera and flash just millimetres from them. Although insects do not ‘sleep’ in the same sense as humans, they enter a state of lethargy where they are less sensitive to external stimuli and are quite motionless.

Very colourful and stunning yet I find those insects scary to look at.
